Art has always been a vital part of who I am. Painting is not a retreat for me, it is a necesity, a form of presence and a powerful means of understanding and expressing the world. It is how I make sense of what lies beneath the surface, both and around me.
I have been drawing for as long as I can remember.
As a child, I wanted to become a fashion designer. I drew my own fashion
sketches, and my mother, being a seamstress, would turn them into reality
whenever she could. She practically showed me that I could be anything I
wanted. Later, I painted the balcony of the house and the walls of the student
dormitory, without asking myself too many questions - I simply felt the need to
let color speak. Then I became a civil engineer and worked for a while in
Bucharest. Art has always remained a refuge, an intimate space for reconnection
and creative play.
After the birth of our second
daughter, we moved with the family to Brașov. Moving to Brasov marked the beginning of my artistic journey. Here I studied oil painting, exhibited for the firt time and found nature, introspection and the courage to turn inner experiences into a visual language.
In my art, I am inspired by the
emotions and transformations we go through as humans. I find my source of
inspiration in nature, especially in flowers, but also in deep relationships,
in family life, in light, and in its absence. I am fascinated by the sun and
the contrast between light and shadow, that duality that defines matter, but
also the inner life.
The flowers in my paintings
represent more than elements of nature; they are a metaphor for blooming and
spiritual evolution, for the subtle interplay between light and darkness. Each
petal speaks of our inner journey, a complex process that transforms fragility
into strength. That transformation does not occur only in light but especially
in moments of darkness, which become the source of regeneration and power.
For me, the beauty of the whole lies in this duality between light and shadow, for one without the other would no longer hold the same meaning. In my works, I wish to create spaces of connection - with oneself, with others, with nature, with the divine.
For me, art is a form of presence and an invitation to see the world with more gentleness. I wish to spread beauty through my art, and this can take various forms.
I prefer working with oil for the fluidity it offers through its medium, and I am drawn to large canvases for the sense of freedom they provide and for the powerful impact of monumental works. I enjoy the experience of being immersed in my own creation, entering into dialogue with it rather than seeking to control it.
For me, painting is a process of collaboration—an exchange between gesture, color, and emotion, where the artwork gradually reveals its own voice. Large formats allow me to step inside this process fully, to feel enveloped by the work, as if I am both creating and being created in return.
Some of my works are part of private collections in Romania, Italy and the USA.
